Assessments

SPARK provides speech and language assessments, behavioural assessments, or a combination of both.  Assessments are the first step in developing an individualized plan that can address unique needs of a child and family.  The aim of a speech and language assessment and/or behavioural assessment is to collect information and data about your child and get to know any priorities you may have.  Some assessments can be informal and play-based, while others use caregiver report/observations, or formal evaluations including standardized testing.  Most assessments are based on the age and needs of the child and family, so there may be differences in how an assessment looks for a toddler as opposed to a school-aged child.
